The rose figure has different meanings in many different times and civilizations. For example, in Greek mythology it is associated with Aphrodite, in Roman mythology with Venus, and in medieval tradition with the Virgin Mary because of the rose's connotation of purity and innocence. At the same time, in medieval architecture, the reason why the rose figure was painted on the walls of meeting rooms meant that what was said should be kept secret. In Sufism, the rose flower is associated with the last prophet Muhammad.
